A year has almost passed, so it’s time for our writing competition! We are working closely with the Brentwood Theatre over the Christmas season, and as their pantomime is Hansel and Gretel, we have chosen the theme of Grimm’s Fairy Tales.
We are inviting children to re-write a classic Grimm tale, either in prose or poetic form, by Friday 20th December.
If you are from a school and you wish to run the competition as a whole school literacy focus, we are happy to collect your entries on Friday 20th December. There will be four age categories, with a winner and runner up in each: Reception, Years 1 and 2, Years 3 and 4 and Years 5 and 6. All winners will receive a prize and certificate, with a certificate for the runners up.
All entries must be clearly marked with: child’s full name, year group and school.
Winning entries will be notified by Friday 17th January, with a prize giving at Chicken and Frog on Saturday 1st February at 2p.m.
