What a hectic few days we’ve had. Our Crowdfunder campaign launched on Saturday and as I am writing this, we have already reached 88%. Thank-you to all of the wonderful supporters out there; we are truly overwhelmed by your kindness. Once the campaign is over, we will be thanking everyone publicly on the website.
Although we will move to Crown Street irrespective of what we raise, the Crowdfunder means that there will be more money in the pot for the important things, such as more resources for sensory storytelling sessions, which we provide free of charge each month. These resources are available for families and schools to borrow, so the more resources we have, the more children we can support.
In the past week, solicitors, letting agents and surveyors have been instructed; a carpenter has begun work on a beautiful, bespoke counter; the Crowdfunder has launched; scale drawings and plans have been carefully drawn up (by Jim, who has the spacial awareness that I lack); the phone company and publishers’ reps have been forewarned and my ‘to do’ list has grown. It’s all getting a bit real.
Chicken and Frog will remain open on the Ongar Road until 5:00pm on Christmas Eve. We will have a couple of days off to spend with family and friends, before taking on the challenge of moving everything over to our new home. In the meantime, we look forward to seeing you at Lighting Up Brentwood – Mrs Claus has gifts waiting!
