As the summer holidays near their end, it is time to reflect on what has been quite an eventful year of firsts for Mr Frog and I.

It is hard to believe that just a year ago we were preparing to sign all kinds of legal documents and nervously hoping that the time scales would be in our favour. And now we are busily planning our first birthday, amongst other things.

Of everything that we have achieved this year, for me surviving the summer holidays has been the most successful and rewarding. We have been pretty busy here, with a whole host of events and activities to help keep children out of mischief, without breaking the bank. But even more than that, we have kept our own children entertained and I, after a whole career of enjoying the privelage of long summer breaks, have also managed to adjust to the lack of a six week break. We are immensely proud of our children for adapting so well to their new life. They have proven once again that they are indeed awesome kids.

So what does the future hold here at Chicken and Frog? Well, in the short term, we have events planned, including the lovely J.D.Irwin on Saturday 7th September, our BOOKS ARE MY BAG launch party on Sunday 15th September and our 1st birthday on October 19th, to name but a few. All details can be found on our events page.

Long term, who knows? Tuition continues to grow and grow, which makes me very happy, as it means that we are continuing to provide excellent quality tuition for those that want it. The tuition side of the business is very satisfying for me, as I get to embrace all of the postive elements of teaching, without the demands of cutting data etc. Don’t get me wrong, I do love my ‘day job’, but I absolutely love being Mrs Chicken.

We plan to double our capacity for tuition by this time next year…here’s hoping and planning! Let’s see what else unfolds as time goes on…
