White Russian anyone?

As I have said before, there are some great perks to this bookshop owner lark. Receiving lovely proof copies of books, meeting authors and illustrators etc is a huge bonus. And then, every once in a while you get to do something super cool. Last night was one of those ‘super cool’ somethings.

Mr Frog and I went out on a school night! I know, crazy stuff. Not only that, but we went to the very trendy Concrete in Shoreditch for a book launch. How grown up are we? Apart from the free vodka cocktails and nibbles, all of which were most welcome, the first thing that greeted us upon arrival was a huge arrangement of Anthony Horowitz’s new novel, Russian Roulette (Anthony’s 25th book for Walker and 40th title in all).

And as if that wasn’t quite enough excitement, we got to meet the man himself. He very kindly signed our books, as well as agreeing to pose for a quick pic. I did apologise for being a book nerd, to which he responded very graciously.

He doesn't look too scared does he?!

Signed for Mr Frog too.

Last thing – there was a brilliant cake. Seriously, what more could you ask for on a night out?

Nom, nom, nom.
Nom, nom, nom.
