Step Outside!

Are you dreading the two weeks ahead? The cost, the unpredictable weather, the cost…did I mention the cost? Worry no longer. First of all, we have loads to do this Easter break (shameless plug), but secondly, there are amazing, very affordable days to be had in our great capital city.

I know what you’re thinking – London is far from affordable. That is certainly true if you choose to go to all of the expensive places, but there’s so much more to London than the regular tourist traps. And the perfect guides to find your way around are the brilliant Step Outside Guides. How do I know? Well, we sell them and we’ve been on a day out using the first of the guides,

I have blogged about the day previously, but in short, it was the best day out in London that we’ve ever experienced.

This afternoon we were joined two of the Step Outside team, Francesca and Margie. They brought along the ‘toilet seat’ game. Yes, that’s right…you can’t beat a few gross toilet related facts.

Francesca and Margie spent some time with our writing club crew, talking about the process that you go through when self publishing. It was really interesting to learn that the whole process can take up to two years. There’s an awful lot of research that goes into writing such an interactive, accessible series of guides.

It was inspiring for the children to know that non-fiction can be so creative and exciting. The fictional characters that lead you through the streets of London help to connect the children (and adults if I’m honest) with our capital.

Here are a few pics of our afternoon with Francesca and Margie,
